A big thank you to everyone in attendance at the fun shoot yesterday evening and an extra special thank you for those who brought food. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed great food.
It has been decided that after the fun shoot on September 2nd there will be a picnic. The Committee will provide Hot Dogs on the "hillbilly microwave" and a few sides. Shooters should feel free to bring something to share if they want, but it is not required.
Please take a close look at these photos. This is a reminder that the club does not exist to provide people with stuff to destroy, nor does it staff a cleaning crew to deal with messes like this. People join clubs like ours to get away from this sort of entitlement attitude often seen on public ranges.
This particular structure was built to be A TABLE, which most rational people can figure out by the fact that there are numerous structures just like it placed UP RANGE all throughout the club property conveniently on concrete slabs. People paid for the material to build that table. People spent time putting that table together so that other members would have A TABLE at that particular location of the property.
Finally, whoever did this, your aim is horrible. Seriously, the most distance you can squeeze out of pit 6 is 25 yards and I bet you were standing closer than that. When you eventually get caught you will be removed from the club.
There is a correction for the August Buffalo Shoot Our own Dusty Ed shot a 31 on the long range shoot, the end of the year number is still correct and he is still in first place with Mike and Ted right behind him looking forward to see who will have their name place on the Buffalo Rifle Trophy for the year 2015.
Scores for the August Buffalo Rifle are now posted for your Entertainment. August was a pretty light match with some of our regular shooters missing August match. All in All it turn out to be a great day with great bunch of shooters. Looking at the scores year to date we have a new leader for the first time and it's the one and only Dusty Ed with his trusty Shiloh Sharps with Ted and Mike right behind him. The question is will we have a new name to place on the trophy this year or will John S. come back with a vengeance to capture the title for three years in a row. Only the sharps will know. I will be missing September match due a mini Vacation so Dusty Ed and it scares me to say Joey "It's the Bullets" Catone will be running the match. Good Luck and Good Shooting
A fun shoot has been scheduled for Wednesday September 2nd. This will be a hybrid shoot with both paper and steel targets and will be Cowboy friendly (2 SA revolvers).
There was a nice turn out this month with a lot of young guns competing with each other including a new shooter Quick Trigger Tim. One shooter brought his best irons, mules and buckboard and ended up with a clean match. Congratulations to Bentley Creek Kid for a clean match, word is that he tossed a gold nugget to Bill the score keeper but no ones talking ! Again The Beaver Run Kid took the over all win, congratulations Kid and Bill the score keeper is still not talking. Cougar Eye Chelsey is cleaning guns for Sidewinder Seth and Jailhouse Jasmin is buying milkshakes for Quick Trigger Tim because of their lost bets !
Results are up for the August 2nd Steel shoot. The results were generated using Practiscore and have a different visual format than what we have been using but contain a lot more information. Going forward we will most likely continue to use Practiscore for the Steel shoots.
A Range Officer course has been scheduled for Wednesday July 29th at 6PM in the clubhouse. The course is open to any interested club member. There is no charge for the course.
This course is not certified, attendees will be qualified to preside only at club level events held on our grounds. All shooting disciplines will be covered.
July Buffalo Rifle Scores are now posted for the month of July. Would like to first thank everyone for coming out today we had some good scores but most of all a great time on the range. . Also Welcome back Ralph first time back to year since he had his Surgery. The year is going pretty fast with only three more shoots left, We have the three top scores with only one of two points difference, Who knows who name will be placed on the Trophy We are looking at placing another set of targets at 275 since they are getting harder to see. We are looking at the Original set staying the same being White. With a new set of small targets being black. You can have the option of shooting either set for score. Looking forward to seeing everyone next month.
Photos are up from the fun shoot and picnic earlier in the month!
A lot of other activities kept Cowboys and their families from shooting this past Sunday and of course the high heat didn't help any. The Beaver Run Kid took yet another over all win with Sidewinder Seth and Keller Hollow Kid improving their shooting skills immensely and are proving to be great competitors at Cowboy Action Shooting. Must of been practicing at the dude ranch or sold some mules to get better shooten irons !

The June Buffalo scores are now posted for viewing. This month was a low turnout due to Graduations and Father's Day weekend .still all in all a great day at the range with some very good scores. If you take notice since John S. miss this month we now have a new first place shooter I'm sure next month we will be back to our regular shooters. We are looking at ordering hoagies for lunch in July from the new deli located right outside the Club. I will have a sheet made up with different type hoagies. if anyone has any interest you can place your order while signing in for the shoot. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable 4th of July and safe travels while out on the road.
It was a tough day for most of the Cowboys during the shoot starting out with The Mifflin Kid leaving his gun belt and holsters at home again. Dodge Bill set up simple scenarios but yet confusing to several of the shooters that caused a record breaking list of procedures for them. Krusty Ken decided to take lunch early leaving every one wondering where he went to only to track him down in the club house enjoying his lunch, well that cost him a DNF for that stage, then the mine car crashed into the door frame and derailed ! What a day ! The Beaver Run Kid took the over all match win with only one shooter avoiding all the crazy stuff going on and he even assisted a new shooter all day, congratulations Rushtown Kid for shooting a clean match and thanks for helping Sidewinder Seth the new kid in town.
Unfortunately we have come to a decision to cancel the July 5th Steel shoot due to the proximity to the holiday. See everybody in August!
The first Handgun Program of 2015 has been scheduled for the 19th and 20th of June. Participants must attend both days to complete the course. This is a great program for new handgun shooters and experienced shooters alike interested in working on self defense and general shooting skills.
